MMC Mini-Mini Collet Chucks – Accuracy in Small Diameter Cutting
If you need more clearance and flexibility in machining, the MMC Mini-Mini collet chuck features a slim and compact body for precision machining with small diameter tools (up to 0.500”). This will enable high runout accuracy with superb surface finish and part tolerance. The MMC collet chuck is ideal for high speed machining applications where clearance is needed, and it also serves as an alternative to a shrink fit system.
Key three features of the MMC collet chuck include:
- Versatile Collet System
- Slim Nose
- High Accuracy

Easy-to-Use Draw-in Collet Clamping
With very few parts to set up, the MMC chuck provides quick and accurate assembly. An easy-to-use draw-in collet clamping mechanism enables clamping/unclamping with just a wrench.
Because a collet system is used, tool changeover is faster and less expensive than a toolholding system that requires a machine in order to insert or extract the cutting tool. The collet system for the MMC also allows for a wider range of sizes while with shrink fit you need a holder for each size of cutting tool.
Using either the AT type or AA type of collet clamping, it draws the collet into the center, which gives the MMC collet chuck its amazing accuracy.
The AT type MMC collet chuck is the draw type where the wrench directly turns the draw bolt and pulls the collet/tool into the center bore of the toolholder. Watch the video about the AT Type MMC Collet Chuck:
The AA type MMC collet chuck is the standard type where the wrench turns the bevel gear and pulls the collet/tool into the center bore of the toolholder. Watch the video about the AA Type MMC Collet Chuck:
Slim, Compact Nose and Front Clamping
The MMC collet chuck does NOT require a collet nut! Instead, an internal draw-in collet clamping mechanism results in strong, high-precision gripping at the nose and allows for a slim nose that can access hard to reach areas.
High-Speed, High-Precision
The MMC collet chuck is precision ground and pre-balanced to 30,000 RPM at G2.5 with runout accuracy of 3 microns at 4 times the diameter – ensuring accuracy and reliability during high-speed operations. Additionally, the MMC is the most flexible collet chuck for machining die mold, aerospace, and medical parts by providing both clearance and accuracy.
Taper Plus (Dual Contact) Availability
Also available in Taper Plus which offers the following advantages:
- Outstanding runout accuracy for longer tool life
- Vibration dampening for increased productivity
- High rigidity for smooth and stable cutting
- Interchangeable between standard and dual face contact spindles
- 53% more surface area contact than just the taper alone
Coolant-thru Capabilities
Standard style coolant collets are mechanically sealed, and no additional accessories are required to make these collets coolant-thru the tool capable.
The jet slotted style collet has collet slots that allow for coolant to be supplied directly to the periphery of the cutting tool. During pocket milling operations, coolant along the periphery of the cutting tool will help flush out chips.
